Simtaangaran
Vocals: Bamba Bakiya, Vipin Aneja, and Aparna Narayan
Lyrics: Vivek
Vocals: Bamba Bakiya, Vipin Aneja, and Aparna Narayan
Lyrics: Vivek
Right from the word go, the song gives you all the vibes of being a thara-local kuththu song! The lyrics are peculiar and follow the Madras Tamil slang. The composition is of a very native folk flavor and the beats are very earthy. The instruments used are sounding extremely sharp, but their usage seems to be of the kind we've heard before. The string section that forms the base of the melody along with the background score sounds attractive.
There is quite a lot of the local slang mixed with Tanglish, making it a little hard to follow the lyrics. However, their peculiarity will add to the curiosity and give it the ability to stick to the head of the listener. The singers seem to be apt for the genre as the punch in the voice is a much-needed push. Simtaangaran guarantees the roar in theaters!
Oru Viral Puratchi
Vocals: AR Rahman, Srinidhi Venkatesh
Lyrics: Vivek
An instant hit from ARR. Oruviral Puratchi is a strong track from the Sarkar album. One of the most important reasons is Vivek's powerful lyrics that are very contemporary. It instigates a sense of strength within us, as we listen to the track over and over again. The song's rhythm is great and it keeps our feet busy.
The arrangement of the instruments and voices are pretty interesting. AR Rahman's usage of a string orchestra has always been great and this track is no less. The electric guitar leads the song and it works very well, giving the feel of a motivational number. Coming to AR Rahman's rendition, he seems very lively and it feels fresh. The texture of his voice adds a lot of value to the song and Srinidhi Venkatesh does justice to her stint.
Top Tucker
Vocals: Mohit Chauhan
Lyrics: Vivek
Toptucker is one of the most experimental tracks from ARR in recent times. Right from the tune, the tones used and the feel of the track, it is an interesting attempt. The background score is giving the feels of a massy theme for Vijay. Mohit Chauhan has always shown superb promise and with Toptucker, his voice feels different but it may interest a few.
Another song completely immersed in techno-tones and beats with the vocal arrangements giving a unique feel to the song. The lyrics are quirky and Vivek gets due credit for the same. This might require quite a few listens to get the hook running.
OMG Ponnu
Vocals: Sid Sriram and Jonita Gandhi
Lyrics: Vivek
ARR and Vivek are back with a song similar to what they delivered in Maacho from Mersal. The creative lyrics will catch the audience, the way it did in Maacho. The English words are used interestingly to supplement the Tamil. By using contemporary SMS language, listeners are sure to connect with the feel.
It is a completely techno-driven track that has a ring to it. The synths take the center-stage and they sound quite fresh! Also, songs like these seem to be tailor-made for a voice like Sid Sriram's. He's a charm when he renders such tracks and Jonita Gandhi is of great support! Again, ARR provides the base for some awesome steps from Vijay and Keerthy!
CEO In the House
Vocals: Nakul Abhyankar and Blaaze
Lyrics: Vivek
CEO In The House is a song that suits Vijay's stature and his character from Sarkar. The lyrics back this statement up. Nakul Abhyankar delivers a powerhouse rendition with this track! AR Rahman proves his mettle with his exquisite arrangements of the synths and beats.
The song provides high-octane instant energy to the listener and Vijay is sure to rock the dance floor with this one! Different tones are being introduced in the background of the track and they sound firm and unsmoked. This could be a fan-favorite song with enough mass appeal upfront!
Verdict: A.R.Rahman goes full-on techno for Sarkar!
